Ceremonial Turnover of Preliminary Flood Maps by DOST Secretary Montejo to Jabonga Local Government Unit

On May 28, 2015 as a continuation of DOST’s 3-day Science Nation Tour in Caraga Region, the CSU LiDAR 1 team went to Jabonga, Agusan del Norte for the Showcasing of the Smarter Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) project of DOST. As part of the program, DOST Secretary Mario G. Montejo, together with Usec. Carol M. Yorobe, Asec. Raymund E. Liboro, Asec. Rommell M. Reyes, DOST Caraga Director Dominga D. Mallonga, CSU President Anthony M.  Penaso, and CSU LiDAR 1 Project Leader Engr. Meriam M. Santillan did the ceremonial turnover of the preliminary flood maps generated by CSU LiDAR 1 to Jabonga Mayor Jasmin F. Monton of the Jabonga Local Government Unit. The maps can be used by the LGU’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office for planning and preparation for future flooding events.
